Managed IT outsourcing providers will have to be innovative if they want to maintain growth in 2009, it is being claimed.
According to a report from online news provider Express Computer, the managed IT outsourcing industry is facing a challenge due to delayed decision making across many industries caused by the global economic slowdown.
The resource states that chief information officers are under pressure to show the business value of their IT investments, meaning that focus has changed from reducing operation costs to providing business value, increased customer satisfaction and supporting customer acquisition.
However, Srikanth Sundararajan, chief operating officer of Persistent Systems, tells the news provider he predicts the industry will improve by mid-2009.
Last month, IT support services provider DMC Software Solutions suggested that managed IT outsourcing providers should be carefully selected in order to achieve the greatest efficiency and productivity.
The group added that when looking to outsource their IT department, enterprises should ask for a fixed monthly cost, request client references and tailor the package to business needs.
