Exigen Services to Share Offshore Agile Best Practices During Agile2007 Conference
Jul 19, 2007
Exigen Services, the leading application outsourcing provider in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced it will share best practices for applying Agile development to offshore projects during an Experience Report presentation at the Agile2007 Conference, August 13-17 in Washington, D.C.
A recognized leader in offshore Agile development, Exigen Services will discuss how it adjusted extreme programming (XP) practices to accommodate the productivity, organizational and communications challenges of a distributed offshore application development project. The Offshore XP for PDA Development Experience Report will be presented by Sergei Andrzeevski, Project Manager, Exigen Services. The project implemented by Exigen for a world leading microprocessor manufacturer focused on developing a PDA application and a middleware server for handling maintenance routines and equipment checks and processing work orders at the client's manufacturing facilities worldwide.
"Using Microsoft's Compact.NET framework to build a complex product was a challenging task, particularly as the technology was brand new and largely untested at the time. However, using XP as the delivery methodology, we were able to deliver, on time and on budget, a product used today by thousands of client's employees worldwide," said Alex Adamopoulos, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Exigen Services. "The very nature of using XP in an offshore environment meant that establishing a close partnership and communications style with our customer was essential. We pride ourselves in fostering such collaborative environments for offshore XP and Scrum for value-driven, iterative development projects."
The Agile2007 Conference is hosted annually by the Agile Alliance and is the software development industry's preeminent Agile event.
