Nizhny Novgorod IT firms rank 3rd in Russia in 2014 revenue—federal regulator

According to the Russian federal telecom regulator, Nizhny Novgorod IT firms made about $220m in revenue last year

IT companies in Nizhny Novgorod ranked third in 2014 revenue after Moscow and its region, and St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region that surrounds it. These are some of the findings that the Russian Ministry of Mass Communications has obtained from its most recent survey.

IT companies in Moscow and its surrounding region are found to have made a total of $3.32bn, while the runner-ups, IT firms based in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, completed 2014 with just over $820m in revenue.

Overall, the Russian IT companies surveyed by the federal regulator made a total of $6.2bn in 2014, including $6.1bn earned from software sales, contract-based software development, testing, installation, adaptation, modification, and servicing.
