Students from the Tomsk University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) have created a new Russian-German mobile phrasebook application for Android-based smartphones, according to reports in the Tomsk Obzor newspaper.
Christened Ru-De Phrasebook Pro, the product was reportedly created as part of Mobile Applications project training.
The application does not require an Internet connection, thus enabling users to save on roaming and traffic fees during travel. Phrases in the vocabulary are sorted into categories, making search easier. The application also has a phrase voicing system and other useful functions.
Earlier in the Mobile Applications training program, TUSUR developed and launched its first product, the Ru-En Phrasebook Lite, for Russian-English translation. A month ago the application was offered through the official Google store, Google Play. The application is one of the 12 most popular new paid applications available from Google Play.
