Kazan’s Startpack offers service for rapid access to cloud sites

Startpack is a Russian software developer that focuses on creating services to streamline work with cloud-based business apps

Apr 15, 2015
Startpack, an innovative IT company based in Tatarstan’s Kazan, in the mid-Volga area, has announced the rollout of its Startpack Launcher, new software for desktops to facilitate work with cloud services. All a user needs to have an array of cloud apps easily opened, as if they were resident desktop programs, is one click, the developers claim.

According to Startpack research, this new approach is more convenient for users who want their cloud services to be permanently open than conventional elements of a typical browser like speed dial icons and others.

The solution is not entirely new to the market. For example, Google Launcher also enables the start of apps from the Chrome store. What makes Startpack Launcher competitive, the developers believe, is room for adding an unlimited number of websites to the service, and no restrictions as to what ecosystem to operate in. Startpack Launcher can easily work with apps from competing ecosystems, such as Google, Microsoft, Yandex, etc.

The developers estimate that Startpack Launcher enables a user to open a cloud service four times more quickly than if you use a browser (0.8 sec vs. 4.1). The websites added can also be synchronized between different computers.

Startpack Launcher will evolve to be compatible with MacOS and Linux, offer automatic pre-loading of app pages before the user chooses to open any of these, and make documents from cloud storages more navigable, the developers said.
