Tatarstan’s Innopolis University opens its own Business Incubator

The team of Kazan’s IT Park, the largest regional high-tech hub, is one of the operators of the Incubator

Sep 24, 2015
The Innopolis University outside Kazan, in the mid-Volga area, has opened its own Business Incubator, the university website announced. The team of Kazan’s IT Park, the largest regional high-tech hub, is one of the operators of the Incubator.

By setting up an incubator on its premises the Innopolis University is pursuing a goal of helping students develop their entrepreneurial skills through a set of acceleration programs, the source explained.

In addition to infrastructure support, Innopolis University students are getting free access to the IT Park’s unique training programs. The Incubator will be working with start-ups, using the ‘customer development’ methodology, which enables developers to test their business models and halve the time typically required for explosive growth of a company’s value.

Training will consist of a content-packed series of workshops and a mentorship program aimed at refining students’ business models, which is expected to identify key growth strategies. The students will also receive one-on-one advice from experts in the IT market.

Anton Grachov, the director of the IT Park, believes "the new Business Incubator will become a perfect bonus to an ecosystem being developed in Innopolis as the regional high-tech town, where students will be able to turn their R&D projects into operating business."

In this new academic year, the Innopolis University has opened doors to more than 350 students.
