Open Source Forum Russia to take Place in April 2005
Nov 30, 2004
The Open Source Forum Russia, organized by RUSSOFT Association, "Fort-Ross" company and Linux Ink., will take place on the 27-29th of April 2005. It is the first conference and exhibition in Russia which will be entirely dedicated to open source software development. The open source model has become extremely popular all over the world, and Russia is no exception. The primary focus of the Forum will be on Linux, the most well known and successful Open Source project. Visitors will be able to see firsthand complete solutions based on Linux systems. All other Open Source technologies will not be neglected neither.
Many major international companies show their interest in promoting open source solutions in Russia. About 75% of Russian software development companies already use the open source model for their international customers. The Open Source Forum Russia aims to boost the confidence of IT consumers for open source solutions.
The conference and exhibition will be held in the "Radisson SAS Hotel". This is almost the only hotel in Moscow with a big conference-hall and sufficient space for the exhibition.
CIOs, CEOs, CTOs, project managers, software developers, system administrators, industrial enterprise directors, representatives of the governmental authorities and anyone who is interested are invited to submit their topics by March 2005.
The Program Committee will include representatives of world renowned vendors, software development companies, government bodies and leading IT Associations such as RUSSOFT and ITAA. The Program Committee will prepare the Program and select subjects of wide importance for detailed consideration.
The Open Source Forum Russia is supported by the World IT and Service Alliance (WITSA), which had been informed about the OSWR and expressed its support at the WITSA Steering Committee meeting in Johannesburg in September this year.
