Russian IT companies will take part in the Mobile World Congress in Shanghai — one of the key global events in the information technology area.
Jul 09, 2015
The visit of the Russian delegation to Shanghai on July 14–16 is organized by RVC together with the RUSSOFT Association and supported by the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in China and Association for strategic cooperation of high technology enterprises in Eurasia. Russian IT entrepreneurs will participate in the Forum events, while the Russian Day will be held within the Forum on July 16.
Leading Russian and Chinese experts will discuss current global trends on the mobile technology market, as well as opportunities and emerging niches for cooperation between Russian and Chinese IT companies. During the Russian Day representatives of Russian companies will meet their potential partners from China. Oleg Plaksin, RVC’s director for international projects, will moderate the Russian Day discussions. Among expected participants are Rashid Usmanov, Deputy Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation; Valentin Makarov, President of the RUSSOFT Association; a representative of the "Torch" High Technology Industry Development Center instituted by the Ministry of Science and Technology, China; and other experts.
The following topics will be covered during panel discussions: "Success stories in building Russia-China alliances in the software development area: challenges, opportunities, and recommendations"; "Probable scenarios of future development of the IT industry. Roles of entrepreneurs, consumers, and network structures"; "Current trends in the Chinese IT market. Potential niches for cooperation between China and Russia."
"Support of Russian innovation companies when entering foreign markets is one of the most important objectives of RVC’s activities abroad. We see many opportunities for Russian companies in the Chinese market. That is why we are actively cooperating both with the RUSSOFT Association and RVC’s partners in China—the "Torch" Center—in order to build up long-term relationship between Russian and Chinese companies," noted Oleg Plaksin, RVC’s director for international projects.
ABBYY, Spirit DSP, SPB TV, Mobility Lab (I.T. Group), TrueConf, SDN-Video and other Russian IT development companies are planning to participate in the Russian Day.
"Participation in the Mobile Congress in Shanghai is really interesting for Russian IT companies," says Valentin Makarov, President of the RUSSOFT Association. "They are looking for opportunities to enter the markets of China and the whole South-East Asia, as well as for potential strategic partnerships in China aimed at joint development of products for the global market. Obvious complementarity of Russian and Chinese IT industries opens up excellent cooperation opportunities."

The visit of the Russian delegation to Shanghai is part of a joint project by RVC and RUSSOFT Association, which is the most reputable Russian association of major IT developers. The project includes a series of webinars on sales and marketing to be held during 2015 with foreign and Russian industry leaders specializing in specific regional markets (South America, Arab countries, South-East Asia, CIS). These webinars are aimed at promotion of best marketing and sales practices at developed global markets (EU, USA), as well as in emerging regions, where Russian companies have limited experience (South-East Asia, Latin America, Australia).
