Russia is setting up its Federal IT Research Center in Siberia, announced the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations (FASO), the recently established entity to ‘double check’ the activity of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). FASO has just approved the concept of the new agency.
The organization is expected to bring together the Novosibirsk-based Institute of Computing Technologies, the latter’s branch office in Krasnoyarsk, and also the Novosibirsk-based Institute of Computing Engineering Design—all being RAS assets.
FASO has prioritized the Center’s focal areas to include fundamental and applied research in computing technologies for mathematical and information modeling, intelligent analysis of big data, cyber-security, hardware monitoring systems for aerospace projects, and some others.
