40 Japanese CEOs meet Russian Software developers in St. Petersburg.
RUSSOFT companies received a visit from official Koken-Kai delegation of Japan.
Oct 10, 2007
The delegation was chaired by Dr. Kenichi Ohmae, president and CEO of Business Breakthrough Inc. and a renowned promoter of development of Japanese foreign economic relations. Dr. Ohmae regularly organizes business delegations to foreign countries opening new faraway markets to Japanese businessmen. This year Russia became the subject to the visit of the delegation which had numbered 40 leaders of various Japanese companies. The program of the visit included meetings with local officials and businessmen.
The delegation’s foreground focuses were Information Technologies and the study of opportunities for cooperation between Russia and Japan in the sphere of software development. Therefore Koken-Kai turned to RUSSOFT Association with a request to organize a meeting with a number of managers of RUSSOFT member companies and a visit to one of the companies. The meeting took place in Reksoft St. Petersburg office and gathered RUSSOFT president and representatives from Reksoft, Luxoft, IBA and DataArt.
RUSSOFT President Valentin Makarov expressed satisfaction after the meeting: "... The visit of Koken-Kai to RUSSOFT stresses the pleasant fact that the wave of recognition and interest towards Russia as one of the three leading providers of software engineering services of the world (alongside with India and China) has already traveled around the Globe and reached Japan. Dr. Ohmae demonstrates good knowledge in the worldwide outsourcing market - his delegations’ visits to India in 2000s had inspired the foundation of joint ventures between Japanese and Indian companies and had assisted to the penetration of Indian companies to Japan. Therefore it is even more pleasant to see the reaction of high professionals from Japan to what they were shown by the Russian companies. Our advantage in science-intensive software development acknowledged throughout the world was worthily distinguished by the Japanese colleagues and will help us in competitive struggle in the Global market".
Svetlana Vronskaya, Corporate Communications Director of Reksoft said "The region of Asia/Pacific represents a huge opportunity for all outsourcing players. Although Reksoft is only paving the way to this market, we feel that the meetings with prospective customers from this geography are a great opportunity for us to showcase our expertise and knowledge in the international business. Japan is the key user of IT outsourcing services in the region, and Reksoft is certainly ready to enter the market to provide cost-effective software development services for Japanese enterprises".
