Tornado Modular Systems was founded in 1992 by researchers from the "Trunk-modular systems" laboratory of the Institute of Automation and Electrometry (Siberian branch of Russian Academy of Sciences). Scientists and engineers gained a great deal of experience in development and application of open trunk-modular systems being researchers at the academic institute. Started as a small laboratory Tornado Modular Systems has grown into the progressive scientific company offering a wide range of turn-key solutions for industrial automation. About 40 high professional engineers and specialists work for the Tornado Modular Systems today offering skilled assistance and proffessional support for developers and users in Russia and other countries.
The principal idea of company activities is creative use of world experience and integration of advanced technologies for development of control systems, automation hardware and software. This approach allows to produce a high quality systems in short terms and offer to a customer the complete set of products for creation of a ready-to-use control system.

Distributed Control Systems (DCS) produced by Tornado Modular Systems correspond with latest technological know-how and compete with similar systems produced around the world. The company achived particular success in developing fault-tolerant automation control systems for large industrial units (power-generation units, industrial boilers etc.) Today Tornado DCS are applied in energy, transport, oil and other industries.
