Samara

Samara is the capital of the Samara region situated in the south-eastern part of the European Russia in the middle part of the Volga, Europe's biggest river. The region occupies the area of 53 600 square kilometers with the population is more than 3 million people.

The region is a typical example of a formerly "closed" region with a highly developed structure of aerospace and defense industry sectors. The city possesses a prominent scientific potential. The framework of mechanical engineering complex is featured by such branches as machine-tool, instrument-making industry, aerospace, electrical engineerin, cable, bearings industries, manufacturing of equipment for oil production, building and agriculture. The city is renowned for its powerful oil processing industry.
